Atyja naplóját folytatta 1710-ig. Miután a Satellit cz. hirlapban (1846. szept. 21.) e naplónak egy része megjelent, mind a kettőt előszóval kiadta gróf Kemény József a Deutsche Fundgrubeben (1860. 348–378. Tagebuch des Johann Irthell des ältern und jüngern 1638–1710.)
