Norton, 1. Karolina Sára, angol irónő, szül. 1808-ban, megh. 1877 jun. 14. Husz éves korában nőül ment Lord Grantley fivéréhez, N. Chapple Györgyhöz, de házasságuk szerencsétlen volt, s 1836. egy botrányos per után elváltak. N. 1877. másodszor is férjhez ment Sir Stirling-Maxwell Vilmoshoz, de nemsokára rá meghalt. Legjobb munkái: The undying one (1830); The dream (1840); és The child of the islands (1845), melyben kora főrangu társadalmának feslettségét festi; nevezetesek ifjusági iratai is: Aunt Carry's ballads (1847); Lost and saved (1863); Ort sir Douglas (1867); The rose of Jericho (1870) stb. 2.
