Gatty
Gatty Margit, angol irónő, szül. Burnhamban 1809 jun. 3., megh. Eulesfieldben 1873 okt. 4. 1839. G. Alfréd paphoz ment nőül, aki szépirodalommal is foglalkozott. Ezzel együtt adta ki apja, dr. Scott életrajzát 1842., majd Life of dr. Wolf the missionary c. munkát (1860) és The old folks from home-et (1862); önállóan pedig a következő, részint elbeszélő, részint tanulságos könyveket: The fairy godmothers and other tales (1851); Parables from nature (1855-71); Worlds not realized (1856); The poor incumbent (1858). Aunt Judy álnév alatt először az Aunt Judy's tales-ben lépett fel (1859). 1866 óta az Aunt Judy's Magazin c. kedvelt havi közlönyt szerkesztette, ezenkivül kiadott egy The mother's book of poemy c gyüjteményt (1872).
