Ebstein
Ebstein Vilmos, ném. orvostanár, sz. Jauerben (Szilézia) 1836 nov. 27. Boroszlóban és Berlinben végezve tanulmányait, a boroszlói kórházakban működött. 1874. a göttingai egyetemre hivatott meg, hol mint az orvostan tanára és a poliklinika igazgatója tette nevét ismeretessé. Ebstein főleg az anyagcsere és a táplálkozás zavarait tette behatóbb buvárlat tárgyává és ez irányu munkáiban (Die Fettleibigkeit und ihre Behandlung, Wiesbaden 1882) az elhizás ellen több uj dietétikus gyógymódot jelölt meg. Figyelemreméltók ezen művei is: Recidive des Typhus (Boroszló 1869); Die Natur und Behandlung der Harnsteine (Wiesbaden 1884); Nieren-Krankheiten (Ziemssen-féle Handbuch der speciellen Pathologie und The rapie, 9. köt. stb.).
