Damiron
Damiron János Philibert, franc. filozofus, szül. Bellevilleben 1794., megh. 1862. Cousin tanítványa, kiváló képviselője a franc. spiritualizmusnak a XIX. századb. Mint az école normale tanítványa, vidéki liceumokban kezdte pályáját, azután pension-okban tanitott, végre a Sorbonne tanára lett. Cousin iskolájában főkép erkölcstani kérdésekkel foglalkozott. A fődolgokban nem önálló s nem eredeti, de részleteikben művei becsesek. A legfőbbek: Essais sur l 'histoire de la philosophie en France au XVII. siécle (1846), au XVIII. siecle (1862); au XIX. siecle (1834); Cours de philosophie (Paris 1842); Dix ans d'enseignement (1859).
