Courtmans-Berchmans (ejtsd: kúrtmansz-) Janka, flamand írónő, szül. Oudegendben, K.-Flandriában 1811 szept. 6., megh. Maldegenben 1890 szept. 22. 1836. Gentben nőül ment Courtmans tanítóhoz, és csatlakozott a flamand irodalmi mozgalmakhoz. 1856. özvegységre jutván, Maldegenben nevelő-intézetet nyitott. Műveit (regények, novellák, versek) gyakran tüntették ki díjakkal. Munkái: Anna de Bloemenmaaegd (Genf 1862); Het geschenk van den jager (u. o. 1864); De zwarte Hoeve (u. o. 1864); Moeder Daneel (Antw. 1868); De Keowachter (Dordrecht 1873); De Hoogmoedige (Genf 1882).
