Corpus (lat.), test; valami egészszé egybekötött; l. Corps. - C. tanácsok, papok stb. gyölekezetét is jelenti; innen in corpore, testületileg. A nyomdászatban C. (garmond) betünem; igy neveztetik, mivel ezelőtt a Corpus juris ezzel nyomtatott.
