Gensel János Ádám
Gensel János Ádám (Sopron, 1677. okt. 26. – Sopron, 1720. aug. 31.): orvos, természettudós. 1695-től Jénában teológiát, majd orvostudományt hallgatott. Orvosi tanulmányait befejezve olasz egy.-eket látogatott. 1703-ban Paduában bölcsész- és orvosdoktor lett. Visszatérve Vasvárott, majd Sopronban gyakorló, 1709-ben városi orvos, 1710-ben Vas és Sopron vm. főorvosa, Esterházy herceg udvari orvosa lett. Természettudományi és orvosi cikkei főleg az Observationes Naturae Curiosorumban jelentek meg. Botanikai érdekességű Neue Hungarische und Schlesische Plantation des vermeinten Indianischen Thees (Breslau, 1737) c. dolgozata.
